Brian
Brain was born in South Yorkshire and shared his enchanting story of a life spent working in engineering and a happy family life. In this excerpt Brian talks about his mother and father’s passion for dance and how their weekly visits to dance halls in Barnsley led them to meeting, marrying and setting up their first home.
Jill
In this excerpt from a fascinating two-part interview, Jill recounts first meeting her husband, Simon. Their flirtatious glances across a room were observed by her best friend’s father and he offered some words of wisdom about new relationships. It was soon afterwards that she sought the approval of the relationship from her parents.
Eric
Eric was born and raised in East London. His father worked in a shoe shop and regularly served a host of celebrities in the 60’s and 70’s. In this excerpt Eric describes how the family went to stay on a farm… unaware that it was the scene of a now infamous murder only a few weeks before. Telling his school friend about the stay very quickly brought the police to the door.
